Zettabytes.Org Update

As many of you know since the website has been up and running, some 10 years now, the site was touted as ‘azure.zettabytes.org‘ and was it’s identity for some time. This had to do with some legacy issues when the site was first created, as well as the fact the site was originally built on the Microsoft Cloud, Azure.

Azure by Microsoft is a great service and par excellence for any cloud needs as well as stiff competition for Amazon’s cloud. As we have moved to our own cloud and hardware approximately 2 years ago, the system is stable and it’s time to make this infrastructure wide change.

The site may be properly viewed now using just the ‘zettabytes.org‘ URL. It will always be available under the ‘zettabytes.org‘ URL, and the ‘www.zettabytes.org‘ URL, however we will be phasing out the subdomain ‘azure‘ and repurposing it for our development and testing infrastructures. ‘azure.zettabytes.org‘ will be pointed at ‘zettabytes.org’ through the end of the year and officially phased out of production January 1, 2025.

Stripe Payment Processing Update

We have also updated and secured our Stripe PPS (payment processing system). We needed to update the appropriate security and domain settings to reflect the primary ‘zettabytes.org‘ domain and make sure it integrates and continues to function for this minor infrastructure change. We have completed the testing and installed new security keys so the payments and donation pages no longer show errors or warnings.
