I found Dybbuk Box: The Story of Chris Chambers while perusing the horror offerings on TubiTV. Don’t know why I particularly chose this movie to watch as there were two to three other movies I hadn’t seen that were available on TubiTV. Probably because I saw The Possession not too long ago and actually the whole Dybbuk Box thing is somewhat interesting to me.
Dybbuk Box: The Story of Chris Chambers is a found footage type of video which chronicles Chris’s foray into the Dark Web to look for a Dybbuk Box. He ultimately finds one which he thinks may be from a ‘reputable’ source and whips out the two hundred and fifty dollar credit card and buys it. The package arrives a couple weeks later and we even get a nice little ‘unboxing’ session as he opens the box while filming.
I’m sure some people might think this video is corny, along with all thoughts about Dybbuk Boxes, but I found this little movie quite entertaining. There’s not a whole lot of action but the main character, Chris, in my estimation does a great job in this and if he wanted to create something in the vein of Paranormal Activity, I personally think he did a great job.
Really don’t have much more to say about this one other than it’s about an hour long and I found it entertaining.
Dybbuk Box: The Story of Chris Chambers was written and directed by Joseph Mazzaferro. Featuring Chris Chambers and Sarah Bently. Released in 2019 as true horror with an IMDb rating of 4.8.
