Being a blogger and always on the lookout for new material, I’ve decided to let everyone know what some of my favorite YouTube channels are. I have eclectic tastes and enjoy a wide range of differing material. From nature documentaries, to UFO channels, to horror game play throughs and even some Christian channels I listen to.

One of my favorite hosts in the game play arena is a YouTuber by the name of Markiplier. He does mostly game play throughs but he does have a series of videos he does called “3 Scary Games” where he tries out all the indy game makers doing horror and even some big name game publishers. He’s kind of goofy, but it’s all part of his charm. I guess the best thing I could say about him is that he is very entertaining. Another thing is he is Korean and American, so I am a little biased as I am also Korean and American. Anyways, if you enjoy game play throughs, or simply wanna watch something entertaining, check out Markiplier on YouTube.

Another channel, or set of channels I enjoy is Most Amazing Top 10 … and Top 5 Scary Videos (the … is filled in with the specifics of the video). These are the ones done/produced by Landon Dowlatsingh and feature some of my favorite YouTube hosts including Rebecca Felgate, Danny Burke, Lindsay Ivan, and so many more current and past hosts. This is just another one of those top something lists but these guys do it on a regular basis, meaning I think I heard they put out 3 videos a day. I have been watching them for some years now and I admit I believe a lot of the lists are just amalgamations of previous lists, but the refreshing hosts keep things interesting. Plus, they have a few other channels, run giveaways, have great merchandise and is just a great channel to watch if you need to waste some time.

The Infographics Show – This is another channel I watch on a regular basis. They cover a whole variety of subjects from current events, past events, paranormal events, real events, etc. Suicide Squad, Alive in the Andes, Surived 2 Nuclear Bombs are a few of the titles I see on their front page on YouTube. This channel produces it’s own graphics and makes stories out of everything they cover with a nice animated story to go along with it. Some of my favorite Infographics shows involve SCP’s. If you’re unaware of SCP’s and are into the horror subculture/genre, it’s something you might want to take a look into. They do a really good job communicating their stories and making the cartoons/animated shows they produce.

John Michael Godier & Isaac Arthur – John Michael Godier is a futurist and astronomy buff who creates great original content on his channel. Quoted from his about page, “Author and futurist John Michael Godier explores the universe in weekly documentary videos released randomly. These videos center on science, future technology and the mysteries of the universe. Additionally, John releases irregular videos covering breaking news on important developments in space science and technology as they happen.” Can’t add anything further than that. If this is a subject you enjoy, Isaac Arthur is another YouTuber and futurist who is another creator of original content that I very much enjoy. One of the things that’s outstanding about Isaac Arthur is he doesn’t script his material. I remember listening on one of his videos where he mentions that if he cannot talk about something for 30 minutes, then he doesn’t know enough about the material to make a video about it. He shoots from the hip so to say but he is a very intelligent and very fun futurist to listen to.

Night Mind – From the About section on his YouTube channel, “The internet’s source for all the dark, mysterious, horrifying, and strange things to be found in this world’s realm, hosted by one of them himself. Used to be my mother’s most disappointing son, but now I’m here to be your least disappointing interdimensional shapeshifting monster cat host! Reviews, explanations, stories, and more. Once the sun falls, it’s time to open up your Night Mind.” Check this out if your into the macabre. A very entertaining host indeed.

Wow, I could actually go on and on with all the different channels but I will list a bunch below that I do watch regularly. If you have trouble finding good stuff on YouTube to watch, maybe take this article as a list to start finding excellent content.

  • Kyle HIll
  • LifesBiggestQuestions
  • Numberphile
  • PBS Infinite Series & PBS Space Time
  • PolarSaurusRex
  • Poppy
  • Riddle
  • SciShow
  • SpaceRip
  • SVAstronomyLectures
  • Strange Mysteries (the original)
  • THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE
  • UFO Mania
  • The WTF Files
  • Veritasium
  • and much much more

This is not even the complete list of all my favorites on YouTube but a bunch I handpicked from the channels I am subscribed to. Of course there’s a lot of one off stuff I watch on YouTube which comes up as a part of the YouTube ‘algorithm’. It picks a lot of stuff which I do not care for but it (the algorithm) does occasionally find stuff I am very interested in based on my viewing ‘profile’.

YouTube is not only a great time waster but it opens you up to the all the talented people in the world who are not actors or other high profile people. YouTube is great because it is done by real people like you and me who have an interest in broadcasting their content. Kind of like what I do with my blog. I’m not really doing this for anyone, I’m doing it because I simply enjoy putting up new material on my blog site. Thanks again and check back soon.
